Throughout the year, as well as Trials and Scrambles, we organise road runs.

Road Run costs: £5 members.

£10 non-members.

Non-members joining the club on the day £15.

Poppyscotland road runs entry is in the form of a donation to Poppyscotland.


Our road runs are a chance to show off your bikes, meet new people, exchange information and discover some of Dumfries and Galloway's stunning countryside.

Full details and entry forms, including starting times and locations etc, will be available prior to each event keep an eye on our website and facebook page.

We have set up a Just Giving page to support our planned 1921 mile road trip programme. Please donate if you can. The page will remain open until December 2021. Thank you

August 29th Poppy Appeal Road Run

The next Road Run is Haddington to Hawick in support of Poppy Scotland and it's on Sunday 29th August.

Our run begins as usual at the Abbey Motorcycles workshop in Dumfries and the route proper begins in Hawick. I guess it should be called Hawick to Haddington for us. 

This run is approx 211 miles and is in a clockwise direction. It takes in Jedburgh, Kelso, Dunns, haddington, Galashiels, Selkirk and back to Hawick.

Entry is £5 per rider, all funds going to PoppyScotland.

Tea and coffee is available for a donation at the workshop.

Booking in is from 8am, leaving at 9 to 9.30. All welcome, members and non members.

Our next road run In Support of Poppy Scotland is on August 11th, Hawick, Dawyck & Hermitage Castle.

The run, starting here is from Langholm where we pick up the rout, through Newcastleton, then the B6399 North to Hawick, then the A7 to Selkirk and the A72 past Peebles and take the B712 to join the A701 south to Tweedsmuir, Cappercleuch and maybe a wee stop at the St Mary's Loch Cafe, then A708 Selkirk road turning right at the pub crossroads onto the B711 back to Hawick and then down the A7 to Langholm and back to Dumfries.

Approximately a 218 mile bimble to keep your skills honed.

I'm hoping for a good turnout and good weather, see you then.

Our next road run will be on Wednesday July 28th, the Campsie Fells and Trossachs, appox 261 miles.
It will be an earlier start aiming to get away at 8.30am due to the mileage involved so signing on will be at 8am sharp.

Our next road run is the Solway and Carrick Coast run which is on Sunday 4th July.


The run is approx 245 miles.

We will meet at the Abbey Motorcycles workshop in Dumfries for signing on at 9am, leaving at 10.

I will email all Road Run members with any updates a few days before the run.

Entry is by donation to Poppy Scotland, £5 per rider on the day.
