Throughout the year, as well as Trials and Scrambles, we organise road runs.
Road Run costs: £5 members. £10 non-members.
Non-members joining the club on the day £15.
Our road runs are a chance to show off your bikes, meet new people, exchange information and discover some of Dumfries and Galloway's stunning countryside.
April 12th : ‘Roon the Fechan’ This run takes us into Annandale and Eskdale with a slight venture into the Borders Region through Jedburgh and Selkirk before returning to Dumfries.
June 18th : ‘The Castle Caper’ This year our Club's famous weekend event at Drumlanrig Castle is being launched as the Drumlanrig Offroad Motorsport Festival. From 18th to 21st June it promises to be an action-packed four days and will feature our Road Run ‘The Castle Caper’ on the Thursday. Grasstrack racing on Friday. A Trial and Scramble on Saturday finishing with The Classic Grand National Scramble of Scotland on Sunday. ‘The Castle Caper’ starts from the Castle Gates on Thursday evening and will be a two hour trip around our beautiful Nithsdale district.
July 5th : ‘Doon the Shire’ Taking in Scotland’s most southerly point – The Mull of Galloway in the Rhins and The Isle of Whithorn in The Machars this run will take us round the Wigtown District.
August 21-23rd : ‘Three Day Trip’ Friday takes us up towards Dunoon, across to Portavadie and onto Oban for our first overnight stop. Saturday we go on up to Glencoe, across to Killiecrankie before crossing over to Perth where we stop for the night. Sunday we return home via Inverkeithing, The Forth Road Bridge and Moffat.
Oct 4th : ‘The Heart of Galloway’ Starting from the Market town of Castle Douglas this run takes us round the Stewartry district and showcases our varied countryside – from our hills to our coastline.
